Western Research Chairs

Western University in London, Ontario, Canada is investing $12.5M to grow its significant strengths in musculoskeletal health research through the Cluster of Research Excellence in Musculoskeletal Health and Western Research Chairs program. These new investments will build on extensive infrastructure, expertise, and a history of innovation in musculoskeletal health in London, Canada. Facilities and resources include a full range of state-of-the-art laboratories, imaging systems, and world-renowned clinics caring for patients with musculoskeletal conditions.
 
Western Research Chairs are sought (see details below) to join a transdisciplinary network of collaborative researchers in Western’s Bone and Joint Institute. The successful candidate will hold an academic appointment at the rank of Associate or Full Professor with tenure or continuing appointment, and will supervise graduate students, postdoctoral fellows and/or clinician-scientists in training in its Collaborative Training Program in Musculoskeletal Health Research.

Western Research Chair (WRC) in Mechatronics

Western University in London Ontario, Canada seeks candidates for a Western Research Chair in Musculoskeletal Mechatronics. to take a leadership role in expanding Western’s profile and capacity in musculoskeletal health research. Preference will be given to applicants who can demonstrate their ability to lead research in mechatronics; e.g. rehabilitation devices, wearable devices, implanted systems, surgical mechatronics, prosthetics, energy harvesting, and human-machine interfaces; relevant to the prevention, diagnosis, treatment, or palliation of musculoskeletal conditions.

Applicants must have an outstanding record of peer-reviewed publications, research funding, supervision of graduate students and postdoctoral fellows, and leadership of research teams. Applicants should hold a PhD or equivalent and be internationally recognized for research relevant to mechatronics and musculoskeletal health.

Western Research Chair (WRC) in Musculoskeletal Health

Western University in London Ontario, Canada seeks candidates for a Western Research Chair in Musculoskeletal Health. to take a leadership role in expanding Western’s profile and capacity in musculoskeletal health research. Preference will be given to applicants who can demonstrate their ability to lead research in imaging, biological or biomedical aspects of bone and joint diseases, or any other field relevant to MSK Health.  

Applicants must have an outstanding record of peer-reviewed publications, research funding, supervision of graduate students and postdoctoral fellows, and leadership of research teams. Applicants should hold a PhD and/or MD/DDS/DVM or equivalent and be internationally recognized for research relevant to musculoskeletal health.

Job Title: Assistant /Associate Professor in Physiotherapy

Department Name: Department of Physical Therapy & Rehabilitation Science

The Department of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Science (PTRS) at Qatar University was founded in 2017. It offers a 4-year Bachelor of Science degree. Its Head of Department took up her position in August 2018 and the first intake of students (n=15) registered in that year. Teaching in the first year is not delivered directly by the Department as the students complete a common year with other students from the College of Medicine and Pharmacy. The program is delivered in English. The Department seeks to appoint two faculty members to commence their positions for the academic year 2019-2020.
