Program Overview
Annual catalyst (seed) funding competitions are a priority for the Institute to encourage new transdisciplinary research initiatives. Up to $130,000 is awarded each year and enables members to initiate innovative, high-impact, and early-stage projects.
Projects funded by this program are at an early-stage making it difficult to obtain external funding. Through collaboration among different disciplines, applicants can advance their work to increase the potential to leverage external funds.
Projects must be transdisciplinary, relevant to musculoskeletal health and must demonstrate potential for high impact, for example:
The nominated applicant must be a member of the Bone and Joint Institute to be eligible for the award.
