BJI Spotlight

The BJI Leadership and it's members acknowledge that Western University is situated on the traditional lands of the Anishinaabek, Haudenosaunee, Lūnaapéewak and Chonnonton peoples, who have long-standing relationships to the land and region of southwestern Ontario and the City of London. These lands are connected with the London Township and Sombra Treaties of 1796 and the Dish with One Spoon Covenant Wampum.

These lands continue to be home to diverse Indigenous Peoples (First Nations, Métis and Inuit) including the Chippewas of the Thames First Nation, the Oneida Nation of the Thames, and the Munsee Delaware Nation. We recognize them as contemporary stewards of the land and vital contributors of our society.
