Ana Luisa Trejos is an Associate Professor with the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering and the School of Biomedical Engineering at Western University, and the Tier-2 Canada Research Chair in Wearable Mechatronics. She has expertise in the design, development and testing of medical mechatronic systems, leading her to establish the Wearable Biomechatronics Laboratory in 2013.
Her current research is dedicated to the design of wearable mechatronic devices for upper body rehabilitation and motion assistance, including wearable devices for tremor suppression and smart orthotic devices. The focus is on designing novel sensing/actuation components, creating models based on sensed biosignals, and developing intelligent control systems.
