Dr. Blaine Chronik is a Professor of Physics and Astronomy and holds the NSERC/Synaptive-Medical Senior Industrial Research Chair in MR Systems Development. He is an expert in the development and construction of MRI systems, applied electromagnetics, with a strong focus on modeling. As an internationally recognized expert in MRI-compatible device development, he is an active member of multiple IEC/ISO and ASTM joint working groups developing MRI testing standards for implantable devices. The company he founded in 2008 (MRI Device Testing™) provides device development and testing services to numerous national and international companies (Boston Scientific, Medtronic, Zimmer, Profound Medical, NDI, Synaptive and others).
