Jacquelyn Marsh is an assistant professor in the Faculty of Health Sciences School of Physical Therapy. Dr. Marsh’s research program is focused on investigating the cost effectiveness of innovative rehabilitation and surgical intervention strategies to improve the value of MSK healthcare. For example, she is currently investigating the cost-effectiveness of web-based technologies to evaluate patient outcomes and to direct appropriate and timely care. She is also interested in evaluating methods to increase the efficiency in current models of MSK healthcare delivery.

Dr. Marsh is taking part in the Institute for Clinical Evaluative Sciences (ICES) Western Faculty Scholars program, a two-year training program to support and prepare faculty of Western University to become future ICES Scientists. ICES datasets document province-wide patterns and trends in healthcare delivery, and allow a more comprehensive view of specific healthcare issues, providing an efficient, accurate, and reliable method of evaluating large amounts of data. With an interest and expertise in designing and implementing economic evaluations. Dr. Marsh is excited to be part of the Bone and Joint Institute’s mission to become a global leader by fostering transdisciplinary collaboration. She describes the Institute as an ideal environment to conduct high impact, policy relevant research to address the value of MSK healthcare interventions.
