Dr. Kloseck is Director of the endowed and Canada Foundation for Innovation funded Sam Katz Community Health and Aging Research Unit and a Scientist with the Lawson Health Research Institute (LHRI). Dr. Kloseck is cross-appointed as Associate Professor in the Department of Medicine (Geriatric Medicine). She specializes in cross sector implementation research to optimize 'aging in place' with a particular focus on individuals with multiple co-morbidities on the tipping point of losing their independence. Her research is conducted in situ in the community and focuses on engaging end users (seniors) both as partners in health research and as users of research findings (community knowledge mobilization). She engages community members to identify real-world access and program barriers and co-design practical solutions to overcome these barriers. Dr. Kloseck has won a number of international awards for her work.
