Dr. Rehman is an Assistant Professor in the Computer Science Department at Western University, and leads the Human-Centered Computing Group (HCCG). He holds adjunct positions in Systems Design Engineering at the University of Waterloo and in User Experience Design at Wilfrid Laurier University. He has served as an Assistant Professor in the User Experience Design program at Wilfrid Laurier University. He holds a MASc and PhD in Systems Design Engineering from the University of Waterloo.
Dr. Rehman's research investigates how interactions with technology shape user experiences, influence decision-making, and enhance digital awareness. His team aims to develop innovative human-centered metrics employing a combination of predictive analytics, empirical performance evaluations, self-reported scales, and behavioral observations. His primary focus areas include entertainment computing—covering video games and associated social technologies; human-AI interaction, emphasizing metrics for evaluating human-centered AI; and the study of human-system interactions within complex sociotechnical environments. Utilizing a multidisciplinary approach, their work seeks to deepen our understanding of human-technology interactions and foster the creation of more intuitive, effective, and ethically responsible digital environments.
