BJI Strategic Research Fund Program

The Strategic Research Fund Program (SRF) provides BJI members with flexible and timely support for interdisciplinary, transformative research in line with BJI’s strategic priorities.

 What is the purpose of the SRF?

The BJI Strategic Research Fund Program was launched in 2021 to better support BJI members in their efforts to lead transformative research in MSK health. Awards are intended to provide transdisciplinary teams timely support to advance BJI strategic priorities and targeted research themes (see current strategic plan here.)

What is the deadline to apply?

This is an open program, meaning there is no submission deadline.

How much funding is available?

Successful applicants will receive $5,000 to $20,000 (contingent on funds availability at the time of the request). The proposed project must be up to 12 months long.

What information should I provide in my proposal?

All proposals must clearly outline how the requested funding will lead to transformative scientific advances, such as improved health or quality of life, policy development, clinical and business applications, and/or commercialization.

Various Types of Projects will be considered:

  • matching funding requests
  • planning or structure grants
  • grant writing support for major competitions
  • pilot or proof of concept work
  • knowledge translation or dissemination grants

 

How to apply

To be able to provide flexible and timely support, the SRF is an open program. There is no submission deadline, and BJI members can apply any time.
